Cal Reichenbach

Seduced by the unfathomable wizardry of Edward Van Halen as an impressionable Jersey teen, Cal descended into obsession with rock guitar armed with a blood-red X-shaped Carvin. After seeing a Pat Metheny show, he soon closeted his shred machine in favor of a more dignified electric hollow body guitar. Yet even while spewing jazz lines with SOCKET, the closeted rocker still can't resist an occasional stomp on the distortion pedal. Cal tours nationally with the SF Music Award-winning afrobeat act ALBINO!; he often performs with the pan-African funk ensemble Aphrodesia as well. An accomplished producer, session guitarist, and guitar teacher, Reichenbach produced SOCKET's self-titled debut album, and he records guitar tracks for musicians all over the world via the Internet.
